Ugly Round Robin Project

During our original trip to the Poconos we started the Ugly Round Robin project which is still in progress. Each member of the group brought a fat quarter of a fabric that she found to be really ugly. Each member also brought along a paper piecing pattern that had to be a size that could be made up into a 12 inch square by making one or more of the patterns. All of the fabrics were thrown into one bag and the patterns into another. Each quilter blindly picked a fabric and a pattern and the challenge was to make a 12 inch square using a recognizable amount of the fabric and the paper pieced pattern in some way. The resulting square would be given to the originator of the ugly fabric. Here are the results of that original challenge:

We were so pleased with the results of this challenge that we decided to turn it into a Round Robin. We set it up so that there would be two borders added to each block. Each border would be done by a team of 2 quilters from the P7. After both borders are added, the owner of the piece will quilt it, and then it will be embellished by one other member of the group. Here is a picture of some of the blocks with their first border added:
